A 21-year-old man killed in a double stabbing which happened on Tuesday has been named by police. Finbar Sullivan was fatally stabbed in Primrose Hill, north London, in the early evening of April 7. Police were called to reports of a fight at the viewpoint in the iconic landmark in the English capital at 6.41pm.
Upon arrival, police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found Finbar with stab wounds. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said. A second man, aged in his 20s, was found nearby in Regent's Park Road with knife wounds and was taken to hospital.
His injuries have since been confirmed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing, police said.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 6.41pm to reports of an incident in Primrose Hill. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic practitioner, incident response officers, and we deployed crews from London's Air Ambulance.
"Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. A further patient was taken to a major trauma centre."
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, who is leading the investigation into the incident, said: "Finbar's family have suffered a devastating loss and our thoughts are with them as they navigate this very challenging time.
"Our investigation is progressing at pace and we are following several lines of inquiry. This incident occurred in a busy public park and there may be many witnesses who can help us piece together what happened.
"We are aware of footage circulating on social media around the time of the incident and urge anyone who has any information, including photos or videos, which could support the investigation to urgently contact us."
Detectives are carrying out a number of urgent enquiries to identify and trace those responsible, including analysing CCTV footage, speaking to witnesses and gathering forensic evidence.
No arrests has been made at this time.
People who heard or saw anything, or have any relevant footage, are urged to upload information to the police major incident portal or contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 6448/07Apr. An anonymous report can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
This appeal comes as police are investigating a separate double stabbing in Shadwell, east London, which also happened on Tuesday afternoon.
That incident, too, resulted in the death of one man and another being left injured.
