The quick delivery segment in India is becoming competitive day by day and now Amazon has also made a fast entry in this race. The company has expanded its ‘ Amazon Now ‘ service in Delhi and started the facility of delivery in 10 minutes. This seems to be giving a direct challenge to existing giants like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Flipkart Minutes and Zepto .
Launched in Delhi after successful trial in Bangalore
According to a Bloomberg report, Amazon started a pilot project of 10-minute delivery in three pin codes of Bengaluru in December 2024. This experiment received a very positive response from the customers, inspired by which the company has now chosen Delhi as the second major city. “Looking at the demand and response of the customers, we will also expand our Now service to other parts of the country.” – Amazon India
Customers are getting the option of better comparison
Along with faster delivery, customers now have the opportunity to compare between more options. Consumers have become more conscious about product availability, price and delivery speed, which has made the competition in this segment even fiercer.
Preparations to reach small towns
Amazon does not want to limit itself to metro cities. Recently, the company announced an investment of $233 million in India to strengthen its delivery network.
- 5 new fulfillment centers opened
- Emphasis on increasing delivery speed in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities
- E-commerce infrastructure is being expanded
The competition will get more exciting
While Flipkart has expanded its Minutes service to 14 cities, Amazon is still working on speed and scale. It will be interesting to see in the coming months how Amazon manages to gain a foothold in this market.
point to note
Amazon Now’s future plans are to make the quick delivery network in India even stronger and wider. The company’s focus is on expanding the 10-minute delivery service beyond metro cities to tier 2 and tier 3 cities. For this, Amazon has invested $233 million in India and is strengthening the infrastructure by opening new fulfillment centers. In the coming time, Amazon is planning to include quick delivery of electronics, health and daily use products along with grocery on its Now platform, so that this service can become synonymous with fast and reliable delivery in the country.
