Hyundai has showcased the IONIQ 6N at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed. It gets quite a few new additions but it also carries a lot of the hardware from its sibling, the IONIQ 5N. Over the regular IONIQ 6, it gets a very aggressive design with a huge wing (more on that later), new suspension and a loads of power.

Let us start from the design first. The IONIQ 6N gets all new bumpers, wheels and a massive wing at the back. The bodykit is painted gloss black which looks quite unique and also reminds us of a certain drift spec car from a very popular anime series. The IONIQ 6N gets the usual visual ques of a proper “N” car.

Lets talk about performance. There are two electric motors which make 601 bhp and 740 Nm of torque. If you engage the N Grin Boost, you can increase the output to 641 bhp and 770 Nm of torque. The resulting performance is that it can do 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 257 kmph. Range is around 470 kms on the WLTP cycle.

There is also a fully redesigned suspension system as well. Hyundai has given the IONIQ 6N a full new suspension geometry and improved the chassis for better handling. It gets stroke-sensing electronically controlled dampers. This allows the vehicle to adjust the damping force based on the driving conditions. There are also features like N Drift Optimizer and N Torque Distribution. These help manage the car’s power. It gets 4-piston brakes up front and single piston rear brakes.

There is also the N e-shift which acts like gears even for an EV vehicle which doesn’t actually have any gears. Hyundai has also worked on the N Active Sound+ and there are various sounds on startup. Hyundai has not revealed pricing of the vehicle yet but it will be priced close to the IONIQ 5N.
