New Delhi. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that India is moving fast on the path of development. By 2030, India will join the top 10 shipbuilding countries. Meanwhile, the Union Minister inaugurated India’s first port -based green hydrogen pilot project at VO Chidambaranar Port in Tamil Nadu. This port will become a green bunkering hub of South India. More than Rs 16,000 crore has been invested for modernization and capacity increase of ports.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that India will join the top 10 shipbuilding countries in the world by 2030 and will be included in the top five countries by 2047. He said that the mission of India developed by 2047 is a mixture of speed, scale, sustainability and self -reliance. Inaugurating India’s first port-based green hydrogen pilot project, the Union Minister said that these projects launched will create thousands of employment opportunities. Tamil Nadu will be established as a prominent contribution in India’s economic aspirations. Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is constantly taking new steps towards achieving its goal of joining the top 10 shipbuilding countries of the world by 2030. Made at a cost of Rs 3.87 crore, this facility will produce green hydrogen in Port Colony to provide electricity to street lights and an electric vehicle charging station. With this launch, VOC Port has become the country’s first green hydrogen producing port.

400 kW solar plant will also be built

Additional projects launched include 400 kW rooftop solar power plant. This plane will increase the port of the port to 1.04 MW, which is the highest in Indian ports. And a link conveyor of Rs 24.5 crore connecting the Kol JT-I to the port stack yard is also included, which will increase the efficiency by 0.72 MMTPA. Union Minister Sonowal also laid the foundation stone of 6 MW wind farm, multi-cargo berth costing Rs 90 crore, 3.37 km long four-lane road and Tamil Nadu Marine Heritage Museum.
