Eko OTT release date, platform, cast, plot: Strong interest has been generated around the digital premiere of Eko, as the Malayalam-language film has finally locked its OTT release date. Viewers who missed the film’s theatrical run will now be able to stream it at home.

Confirmation was shared by Netflix India on Friday through its official social media handles. It was announced that Eko will begin streaming on December 31. The film will be available in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, ensuring wider reach beyond regional audiences.

Along with the announcement, the streaming platform teased the film’s atmosphere with the caption, “There’s a lot of secrets hidden in the forests, will the answers be there too?”

The mystery thriller has been directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written and shot by Bahul Ramesh. The creative team previously collaborated on Kishkindha Kaandam, a project that was widely appreciated for its layered storytelling. With Eko, the duo has returned to a similar tonal space, rooted in atmosphere and psychological tension.

The narrative has been set in the mist-covered hills of Kaattukunnu. The story follows an elderly woman and her caretaker as buried secrets from the past begin to resurface. Their lives are disrupted while Kuriyachan, an infamous dog breeder and fugitive played by Sandeep, is being hunted. As strangers arrive in the forest searching for him, unsettling truths are gradually uncovered. The film has been described as a slow-burn mystery that leans heavily on mood and character-driven tension.

Eko has been positioned as the concluding chapter of Dinjith Ayyathan’s Animal Trilogy, following Kishkindha Kaandam and Kerala Crime Files: Season 2. The ensemble cast includes Biana Momin, Sim Zhi Fei, Vineeth, Ranjith Shekhar and Saheer Muhammed in key roles. Music has been composed by Mujeeb Majeed, while editing duties were handled by Sooraj E.S. The project has been presented by Aaradyaa Studios and produced by MRK Jhayaram.
