Queen Elizabeth II made a hilarious quip to a British Prime Minister during an engagement with other world leaders and left them all unable to do anything but laugh. The late monarch was known for her quick witted sense of humour and her ability to know when and where to use it.
In 2021, just over a year before her death, the UK hosted the 47th G7 summit. Boris Johnson was Prime Minister at the time, and he, alongside other key political figures, including French President Emmanuel Macron, then-US President Joe Biden, as well as then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Canada's then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Italy's then-Prime minister Mario Draghi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
While at the Eden Project in Cornwall, the group gathered for a picture together.
Queen Elizabeth turned to Mr Johnson and asked: "Are you supposed to be looking as if you're enjoying yourself?"
The joke left everyone speechless before they all burst into laughter.
Another prime example of the late Queen's impeccable sense of humour was when she bumped into a group of American tourists in Balmoral, Scotland, during her evening walk, without them realising who she really was.
Richard Griffin, a former royal protection officer, told The Times how the late monarch was casually dressed in tweeds and a headscarf when she was approached by the tourists who were unaware of who she was.
The tourists asked if "the Queen" lived nearby, to which Elizabeth said she did.
Yet when asked if she had met the Queen, the monarch playfully hit back, "No, but he has", pointing to her protection officer.
They then asked Elizabeth to take a photograph of them with the policeman, before taking one with her.
