The Masked Singer has featured some stand out performances and unexpected reveals.

ITV's hit contest The Masked Singer has left viewers on the edge of their seats since it first premiered in 2020. Hosted by Joel Dommett, viewers and a panel of judges must piece clues together to work out which celebrity is performing anonymously under a mask. Throughout the years, the competition has had famous competitors from athletes, actors, reality stars and professional singers.

The reveals that ushered in by the "take it off" chant come with memorable, often chaotic reveals andthe shocked reactions from the star-studded panel, which includes Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross. The series has also featured incredible winners such as Nicola Roberts, Danny Jones and Samantha Barks. In 2021, A-ha frontman Morten Harket was unveiled as Viking. The singer shocked the judges by becoming the first in the franchise's history to perform his own hit song, Take on Me.

Despite being a fan favourite and having a distinct voice, he was unmasked in series two.

Despite being best known for his professional dancing skills, Anton Du Beke left everyone surprised when he was unveiled as Arctic Fox.

After taking off his mask, the 59-year-old put on a very impressive performance of Barbra Streisand's 1980 hit Woman in Love.

The beloved This Morning host Dermot O'Leary made a hilarious debut as Mistletoe on The Masked Singer's 2025 Christmas special.

Just moments before he was unmasked as the winner, Joel admitted he heard Dermot's recognisable laughter and instantly knew he was, in fact, under the mask.

Welsh singer Aled Jones made it to the 2022 semi-finals when he was revealed to be Traffic Cone.

Despite his attempts to hide his well-recognised vocals, viewers guessed the star's identity. After he was unveiled, Aled said the experience was "fun," and he enjoyed singing songs outside his usual classical repertoire.

The former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani, made a controversial appearance on The Masked Singer US.

His reveal was met with mixed reactions, so much so that panellist Ken Jeong walked off set. At the time, his participation on the show caused backlash because he was an extremely divisive and problematic figure for spreading misinformation about the last presidential election.

Caitlyn Jenner's reveal on The Masked Singer caused a major stir due to her lack of singing skills.

While she embraced the "fun" side of the contest, the reality star was eliminated in her first episode, where she performed Tik Tok by Kesha.

American singer Macy Gray famously starred on The Masked Singer UK as Toad in a Hole and made a jaw-dropping exit from the series.

In 2025, the I Try star sparked drama by storming offstage after being eliminated over Bear, who was later unmasked as rapper Example.

Topping the list as the worst reveal of all is from series five of the Masked Singer US.

Kermit the Frog became the first Muppet to compete on the show. Disguised in a snail costume, he performed You Make My Dreams (Come True) by Hall and Oates before being eliminated in the first episode.
