
Lucknow, 9 February. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the occasion of the budget session of the Legislature on Monday that this state, which was at the top in terms of population density, no longer comes in the category of ‘sick’ but economically strong states, which is a matter of pride. While talking to journalists before the beginning of the session, Yogi said that his government has given a new dimension to the economy of Uttar Pradesh and the ‘sick’ state for a long time has now made its mark as a strong state in the country.
Welcoming all the members, the Leader of the House said that as per parliamentary traditions, the budget session will start with the Governor’s address and after this the general budget will be discussed in the House. The Chief Minister said that there are two main agendas of the budget session. First is the Governor’s address and second is the general budget. The Governor’s address is a document of the government’s achievements and future action plans, through which the people of the state are addressed.
Honorable members discuss this in detail in the House. He said that the general budget for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented on February 11, which will be discussed. The proceedings of the budget session will continue till February 20. The Chief Minister also informed that after the Governor’s address, the Economic Survey report will also be presented in the House for the first time today. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the government has given a new dimension to the economy of Uttar Pradesh and changed the image of what was called a ‘sick state’ for a long time.
He claimed that the state has made a breakthrough in the economic sector, per capita income has increased and employment opportunities have increased continuously. Uttar Pradesh has remained a surplus budget state for the last five years. Describing the Legislature as an important pillar of democracy, the Chief Minister said that democracy works through dialogue and not by disrupting proceedings. The government is fully ready to accept every positive suggestion, but there should be no disruption in the proceedings of the House. He said that in the last nine years, many new records have been established in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, which are proof of healthy parliamentary traditions.
