Ranveer Singh threat case: In a fresh development in the threat case involving Ranveer Singh, sources claim that a close relative of Salman Khan has also received a threatening email. The sender reportedly identified himself as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and demanded a ransom running into crores of rupees.

However, neither Salman Khan nor his family member has filed a formal police complaint so far. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch has stepped in to investigate the matter. Officials are probing whether the sender is genuinely linked to the Bishnoi gang or if it is a fraudulent attempt to exploit the prevailing fear around such threats.

The security has been tightened outside the Mumbai home of Ranveer and Deepika Padukone after the actor received a threatening voice note on WhatsApp on February 10. For those who have missed it, the message reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 10 crore. Six armed guards have been deployed at the couple’s residence, with visuals of security personnel circulating widely.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has also launched an investigation and is examining digital evidence to trace the sender. According to reports, police suspect the possible involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously been linked to threats against Salman Khan and a recent firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence.

According to PTI, heightened security outside the Central Mumbai housing society prompted its managing committee to approach Dadar Police Station. In a letter, the committee stated that armed guards were frequently moving with weapons in common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium and children’s play area, raising serious concerns about the safety and comfort of residents. Police continue to investigate the source and motive behind the threat.
