In order to strengthen the health sector of Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday gifted 51 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to the capital from Fatehpur Beri village in South Delhi. Since the launch of these new centres, the total number of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Delhi has increased to 370, which is a big achievement achieved in just eight months.


On this occasion, South Delhi MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar, Corporation Councilor Sunder Singh Tanwar and many senior officials and local citizens were present in large numbers. The Chief Minister conducted a detailed inspection of the Ayushman Center and reviewed the various health facilities available there.



Important changes in the health system


The Chief Minister also ensured that all necessary testing, medicines and treatment services are being conducted systematically and citizens are getting timely and effective health services. The Chief Minister said that there has been a significant change in the health system with the establishment of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Through these centres, not only treatment but also promotional and preventive health services are being provided to the citizens.


The Chief Minister said that the Delhi government does not consider health as an expense but as an investment. Ayushman Arogya Mandir is not only a center of treatment, but also a center of prevention, awareness and faith. When intentions are clear and resolution is strong, results come faster. Establishing 370 Arogya Mandirs within just one year is a proof of this commitment. The Chief Minister also announced that the government will soon meet the target of setting up more than 1100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.



Facility of 80 types of free tests


The Chief Minister said that through these Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, comprehensive and modern health services are being provided to the citizens in their own areas. Around 80 types of free tests, free availability of essential medicines, advanced diagnostic services and cancer screening are available here. Besides, important facilities like vaccination services, maternal and child health rooms, care of the elderly and testing for non-communicable diseases are also available.


Chief Minister Rekha Gupta laid the foundation stone of much-awaited development projects worth more than Rs 322 crore in Chhatarpur assembly constituency in South Delhi. These projects include construction and strengthening of roads, construction and improvement of drains, necessary structural improvements to solve the problem of traffic jams, upgradation of schools and development of public facilities. Besides, expansion of basic facilities in the assembly colonies will also be ensured.



Double decker flyover at a cost of Rs 1471Cr


On this occasion, the Chief Minister informed that his government has approved the double decker flyover on Mehrauli-Badarpur road at a cost of Rs 1471 crore. Chhatarpur assembly constituency has also been given the gift of three new schools. Apart from this, four elevated road projects have also been approved in Chhatarpur and surrounding areas.
