New Delhi. After India’s historic victory in the T20 World Cup 2026, a special moment was seen outside the field as well. India won the T20 World Cup title for the third time by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Shortly after the victory, former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni shared a special message on social media, which quickly became a topic of discussion.

Dhoni was seen in the VVIP box during the final match. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI secretary Jay Shah were also present with him. After the match ended, Dhoni congratulated the Indian team on his official account and also praised head coach Gautam Gambhir.

What did Dhoni write in the message

Dhoni wrote in his message, “Coach sir, your smile looks very nice.” He also praised the excellent performance of the team and the changes that have taken place in recent times. He wrote, “History was made in Ahmedabad. Many congratulations to the team, support staff and all the fans of the Indian team around the world. It was a pleasure to watch you all play.”

Dhoni’s address of “Coach Saheb” was directly towards Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir is known for his strict and serious image, hence Dhoni’s comment about his smile after the victory was much talked about. It has often been discussed on social media that the relationship between Dhoni and Gambhir is not good, but on many occasions both have proved these speculations wrong.

Bumrah also praised

Dhoni also praised fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in his message. He wrote humorously in his own style, “It is better if I do not write anything about Bumrah… Champion bowler.”

Dhoni is very less active on social media, hence his message which came after a long time was also much discussed. In the final match, Bumrah bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets for 15 runs and put New Zealand’s batting under complete pressure.

India scored a huge score

In the final match, India batted first and made a big score of 255 runs. The New Zealand team, which came to chase the target of 256 runs, looked under pressure from the very beginning and despite the struggle, it was reduced to 159 runs in 19 overs. With this victory, India created a new history by winning the third title of T-20 World Cup.
