A brand new store is opening in one of the UK's largest shopping centres, and it will be the very first one in the country. Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent already has hundreds of stores, as well as a cinema, restaurant and entertainment venues. A fashion retailer that has become popular in the US and Canada is expanding into the UK, opening its first store in this iconic shopping destination.
Garage clothing has announced it will launch its newest store at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe later this month. The store has been given an opening date of Friday, March 20. After that, it will open another UK store, located on London's iconic shopping street, Oxford Street. The brand has become popular with Gen Z shoppers, with its clothes mirroring early 2000s fashion. The brand originates in Canada but has become popular across North America.
Senior vice president of Garage, Mary Ann Vitale, said: "Our first UK store at Bluewater is a bold step into the market, bringing our off-duty and active aesthetic to a community that shows up confidently and unapologetically.
"With our UK flagship opening soon on Oxford Street, GARAGE is making its mark in one of the world's most influential style capitals."
Meanwhile, centre director at Bluewater, James Waugh, said: "We're proud to welcome Garage to Bluewater as the brand opens its first UK store.
"Securing international brands like Garage reflects the strength of Bluewater's position as a launchpad for retailers entering the UK.
"Retail destinations like Bluewater continue to attract Gen Z and younger audiences who are seeking immersive, experience-led spaces where they can connect with brands in real life. With its experience-first approach, Garage is a natural fit. We look forward to introducing Garage to our guests and seeing the energy this international arrival will bring to the centre."

Bluewater bosses say they hope the new store will give shoppers "a fresh new name to explore at the centre, with plenty of everyday wardrobe pieces designed to mix, match and make a statement".
The store specialises in laid-back streetwear, specifically geared towards a younger demographic.
Bluewater has a slew of popular fashion brands available to visitors, including big names such as Abercrombie & Fitch, AllSaints, Ann Summers, Bershka, Diesel, H&M and Levi's, to name a few.
There are also several well-known restaurant chains, such as Bella Italia, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Nando's, Pho and Pizza Hut.
