Liam Rosenior could make multiple changes to his Chelsea side to take on Newcastle United on Saturday evening given the tight turnaround from their trip to Paris.

The Blues were defeated, agonisingly, 5-2 on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes with a late collapse seeing Paris Saint-Germain hit three past Filip Jorgensen in quick succession. One big mistake from Jorgensen, as well as the fifth goal where he would have been frustrated to let it go through his hands, means his place in goal is under threat for the match at Stamford Bridge.

The Danish goalkeeper was brought into the side for last week's win away at Aston Villa, where he impressed by playing a big part in Chelsea building out from the back and he helped beat the home team's high press on numerous occasions. Robert Sanchez then came back into the XI for the win at Wrexham a few days later, but the Spaniard was dropped for the big one in Paris.

However, after a poor display from Jorgensen in the French capital, he could lose his place to Sanchez for when Newcastle come to SW6.

Malo Gusto was one of the standout performers for Chelsea away at the European champions and the Frenchman could keep his place in the defence this weekend. In fact, Rosenior might be tempted to opt with the same back four as what he fielded in France, with Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Cucurella alongside Gusto.

Given Chelsea's treatment and cautiousness with Reece James this season, it wouldn't surprise you to see the Blues captain start this one from the bench. James completed a gruelling 90-plus minutes on Wednesday night and Rosenior might well give him a bit of a rest.

Andrey Santos could replace James to partner Moises Caicedo, who is likely to be asked to go again on Saturday evening. In front of the Blues duo, Enzo Fernandez, who shone in Paris this week, might be used in the No.10 role once again.

This is another huge match for Chelsea and that's why Rosenior might call upon Cole Palmer again, despite the 23-year-old's fitness problems this season. Pedro Neto impressed in Paris but there might be scope to bring Alejandro Garnacho, who was used for just a few minutes in the week, in on the left-hand side.

Joao Pedro is set to lead the line for Chelsea as he looks to continue his red-hot form, which includes 11 goals in his last 13 appearances in all competitions. Liam Delap might be an option from the bench if the Blues are looking for something different in attack.
