Weather Update: A sudden major change has been seen in the weather of the capital Delhi and the entire NCR. In the afternoon, dense dark clouds covered the sky. The day itself began to feel as dark as the evening. Meanwhile, rain along with strong storm was also recorded in many parts. The Meteorological Department had already predicted a strong possibility of rain in this entire area for the next three days.

A few days ago also there was light rain in many parts of Delhi. At the same time, snowfall continues in the hilly areas. Recently, due to the scorching heat in North India including Delhi, people started feeling the scorching heat. However, now the weather patterns have completely changed. Let us tell you about the main reason for this sudden big change in the weather.

Strong storm and rain continue in Delhi

There is darkness in parts of Delhi-NCR due to dense clouds and heavy thunderstorms continue. There have been reports of traffic jams at many places due to bad weather. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the sky will be partly cloudy on March 19 and 20. During this period, there is every possibility of rain or sprinkle with thunder once or twice.

The maximum temperature on these two days can be 29 and 28 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is expected to be 16 to 17 degrees Celsius. On March 21 also the sky will be cloudy and there is a possibility of light rain. After this, the weather will improve on 22 and 23 March. These days it will be partly cloudy, but there are chances of the sky being mainly clear.

Pollution will reduce due to rain

The Meteorological Department has clarified that there will be no major increase in the maximum and minimum temperatures in the coming week. This is expected to provide relief to people from the heat. Due to the possibility of rain, there has been a significant improvement in the air quality index (AQI) of many cities of NCR. There are strong chances of further decline in pollution levels in the coming days.

Why did the weather change suddenly in Delhi?

The sudden change in the weather of Delhi-NCR is the result of active western disturbance. When the moisture-rich winds rising from the Mediterranean Sea collided with the heat of the plains, instability was created in the atmosphere. Due to this, the sky became cloudy and it started raining along with a dust storm. This weather system will remain active for the next two-three days, due to which the temperature will drop and people will get relief from the heat.

How will the weather be in Himachal Pradesh?

According to the forecast of Himachal Pradesh Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in many areas of the state on March 18, 19 and 20. Sporadic rain or snowfall may also be seen in some areas on March 21. Keeping in mind these chances of bad weather and snowfall, the Meteorological Department has advised all the local people to take special precautions.

Condition of hill state Uttarakhand?

The weather has changed in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. There has been heavy snowfall in the upper parts of Chamoli, due to which the temperature in the lower areas has dropped significantly. The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert of rain and snowfall in the state. Due to heavy snowfall at high altitude places like Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib, now the cold has once again increased in the lower areas.

Warning issued for Rajasthan also

Apart from Delhi-NCR, there is warning of thunderstorm and hailstorm in Rajasthan also. According to the Meteorological Department, a circulation system is forming over south-west Rajasthan due to western disturbance. Due to its effect, winds at a speed of 40-50 km per hour, rain and hail are expected till March 18-20. Its maximum impact will be seen in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur and Kota divisions on March 19-20.
