Legendary American action star Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86. His family confirmed the news in a statement shared on social media on Friday evening.

The family said he died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. They requested privacy and did not disclose the cause of death.

In their statement, they described him as a man of strength, faith, and dedication. They said he was not only a global icon but also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

They added that his life was guided by purpose and discipline. Through his work and character, he inspired millions around the world. They also thanked fans for their continued love and support, calling them an important part of his life.

The actor had reportedly been hospitalised in Hawaii shortly before his passing.

Norris built a legendary career in action cinema during the 1970s and 1980s. He starred in popular films such as The Delta Force, Missing in Action, The Octagon, and Lone Wolf McQuade. He gained international fame for his role alongside Bruce Lee in the film The Way of the Dragon.

He later became a household name through the hit television series Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired from 1993 to 2001.

Beyond acting, Norris was a highly accomplished martial artist. He held multiple black belts across disciplines, reflecting his lifelong dedication to martial arts.

He is survived by his wife Gena O’Kelley and his children. His legacy as an action star and cultural icon continues to inspire fans worldwide.
