There's a clip doing rounds on the internet of Rohit Sharma on field with a video of it going viral after his bat seemingly got stuck on checking ahead of MI and KKR IPL 2026 fixture. The incident has led to a lot of debates on the internet between fans and experts.
In the clip one can witness the umpire trying to check Rohit Sharma's bat with a measuring gauge to see if the bat meets the required dimensions. While doing the check, his bat got stuck on the measuring gauge which led to a little effort from the umpire in order to pull the bat out of the device. Rohit Sharma seemed calm throughout the checking and also explained to the umpire that his bat conforms to all rules before he went out on to the field.

There's also a video doing rounds from the same checking of the former Indian players Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh giving their inputs while on commentary which further fueled up the debate and has many fans wondering whether the bat was of an oversized nature.

Rohit Sharma's CEAT 'Hitman' Bat Details
There have been no official issues and Rohit Sharma carried on playing throughout the innings with ease, which was quite evident in his batting as well, and scored heavily for Mumbai Indians.
For the unaware, Rohit Sharma uses a custom-made CEAT 'Hitman' edition bat that perfectly fits his style of playing aggressive cricket. His bat has a full profile, thick edges, and a prominent spine which is ideal for playing aggressive shots.
His bat is made up of high-quality Grade A English willow and typically ranges from 1140 to 1220 grams. Its edges measure approximately 39 to 40 mm, while the spine thickness is usually around 65 mm. The handle is constructed using a 9-piece Sarawak cane which aids in shock absorption and offers a better grip and control over the bat. The sweet spot of his bat is positioned towards the mid-low section which helps in playing big shots according to Rohit Sharma's batting style.
Regarding the match itself, Mumbai Indians have registered a massive win over Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR batted first and managed to score 220 for 6 with the help of Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rinku Singh at the end too played a vital cameo to take KKR to the above score.
In response, Rohit Sharma came out and smashed 78 of 38 balls whereas Ryan Rickelton played a match-winning innings of 81 runs off 41 balls to give MI the highest successful run chase in the history of IPL.
During the match, Rohit Sharma achieved another big milestone, he has now become the highest run-scorer against a single team in IPL history, with 1161 runs against KKR. He is just behind Virat Kohli who has 1159 runs against Punjab Kings.
Currently, Rohit Sharma is second on the all-time list for run-scorers in the IPL with 7124 runs in 273 matches which includes 48 fifties and a couple of hundreds.
