The IPL 2026 match will be played on Wednesday at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in the capital. In view of this, to streamline the traffic in the city, diversion will be in force from 2 pm to 12 midnight at the stadium and all connecting routes.

Police said that in case of emergency, school vehicles, hearse, ambulance and fire brigade will be taken out under special permission.

According to diversion

• Vehicles from Kamta Shaheed Path Tiraha Ayodhya Road will not be able to go directly from Kamta Tiraha via Shaheed Path towards Sultanpur Road, Rae Bareli Road and Kanpur Road. They will have to travel through Kisan Path from Kamta Tiraha, Indira Gandhi Pratishthan Square, Samatamulka Square, Lalbatti Square, Cariappa Square, Telibag Square, Barabirwa Square or Indira Canal Square.


• Vehicles from Shaheed Path Kanpur Road intersection will not be able to go directly towards Sultanpur Road, Rae Bareli Road and Ayodhya Road via Shaheed Path. They will have to go via Barabirwa Square, Bangalbazar Square, Telibagh Square, Cariappa Square, Lalbatti Square, 1090 Square or Darogakheda Kisan Path.

Lucknow Metro has also increased facilities for match fans during IPL 2026. On match days of Lucknow Super Giants, metro service will run till 12.30 am. Along with this, special feeder buses have also been arranged.

Lucknow Metro said the decision was taken due to its association with the team as its official connectivity partner. IPL matches will start at 7.30 pm, due to which the match continues till late night. Metro and feeder bus services will help passengers reach home easily.
