Death in Paradise has shared an exciting update on the show's future after series 15 came to an end last week. On Friday, the final episode of series 15 played out, and fans witnessed a heartwarming moment for Detective Mervin Wilson (played by Don Gilet).
Mervin decided to let his niece stay with him on Saint Marie after his brother, Solomon (Daniel Ward), and her father carried out his prison sentence.
However, while fans will be wondering whether there will be another series, BBC show bosses have confirmed the gang will be back in December with a Christmas special.
Taking to its official Death in Paradise Instagram account, they wrote, "That's the end of this series, but the good news is, we'll be back... at Christmas!"
Fans rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts, with one writing, "I really wish there were more episodes in a series, but this is why I binge-watch old series to get me through until Christmas."
Another wrote, "I actually thought this was one of the absoluMy wife and I are diehard fans from the beginning. I won't say how much we watch reruns, but it's probably something a study could be made of."
A third added, "Before Christmas please. Best series ever."
While someone else went on, "Ended on a high."
"Can't wait," another fan simply stated.
Speaking ahead of the new series, Don Gilet, who plays the lead detective, opened up about his future on the show.
Discussing the prospect of another series and reprising the role after succeeding Ralf, Don told Express.co.uk and other press: "It's been very much a fish out of water for me as an actor, to come in and step into something that's already got this...It's a juggernaut of a show.
"And to step into something like that and have that responsibility, it very much is daunting, and it continues to be daunting, because I never want to just rest on my laurels.
"It's coming back into, as I've always called it, the notorious second album, which was a great album. 'Can you come back and make the second album better?' Don't rest on your laurels."
He added: "So it's still very much a fun thing to come back and do, and as long as they want me to do it and I don't pass out in the heat, I'll do it."
Death in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
