Manchester United have already secured an initial agreement to sign Cristian Orozco, with additional arrivals planned for the summer transfer window. United have witnessed a transformation in 2026 since Michael Carrick took charge, claiming seven wins from 10 matches and enduring just a single loss so far.

Notable results against Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have strengthened demands for the former club captain to land the position on a permanent basis. Nevertheless, with no official confirmation yet forthcoming and summer rapidly approaching, United have turned their attention towards prospective signings.

Orozco is expected to arrive as a highly-regarded defensive midfielder to strengthen the academy setup. United have reached a preliminary agreement with the 17-year-old Colombian's current club, Fortaleza CEIF.

Though the deal cannot be completed until Orozco reaches 18 and becomes eligible to make the switch to Old Trafford.

A fee of approximately £750,000 has been agreed, underlining his potential to emerge as a future talent rather than an instant replacement for outgoing players. Orozco is unlikely to be United's only summer signing, with the club prepared to also secure reinforcements for the first-team squad.

The Manchester Evening News claim that United will pursue a younger left-back, a left-winger and they are in the market for at least two midfielders.

Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson has caught the eye in recent months, cementing himself as a pivotal figure in Thomas Tuchel's England squad and drawing significant attention from both United and Manchester City. Forest have reportedly placed an £80million price tag on the 23-year-old, who admitted his sole focus heading into the summer is representing his country.

Anderson said: "We've obviously got the World Cup this summer, so all my eyes are on that and playing for England. I've obviously got the badge on now, so that's what I'm thinking about at the moment."

Despite Forest battling against the drop this season, the midfielder has garnered widespread praise for his performances at the City Ground.

Alongside Anderson, Newcastle duo Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes are further targets United have been linked with. With Casemiro heading for the exit this summer and Manuel Ugarte's future in Manchester hanging in the balance, the club are actively pursuing dependable reinforcements in central midfield to complement Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.

Tonali's deal at Newcastle is contracted to run until 2029, with Chronicle Live reporting that the club remain unfazed regarding his future at St James' Park.

Nevertheless, chief executive David Hopkinson acknowledged that the club will need to be open to transfers this summer "on our terms" as they pursue the "maximum price" for their prized assets.

The Italian's agent, Giuseppe Riso, has openly acknowledged the possibility of a future transfer. United are among several clubs pursuing Tonali and have also been linked with the 25-year-old's team-mate, Guimaraes.

Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly is reportedly another name on United's summer shortlist. The left-back has made a considerable impact since breaking into the first team in north London and could be considered a young long-term replacement for veteran Luke Shaw.

The 19-year-old only signed a five-year contract last year, but has slipped down the pecking order at Arsenal. Loanee Piero Hincapie has established himself as the preferred option this season, with Riccardo Calafiori also being favoured ahead of the youngster.
