Queen Camilla has been very open about some of her favourite shows over the years, which have certainly raised a few eyebrows. It's hard to imagine the Royal Family sitting down with a cup of tea and binge-watching TV like the rest of us. But the truth is they're just as obsessed with TV as we are.
From period dramas like Downton Abbey to reality shows like Strictly Come Dancing, the royals have been keeping up with some of the biggest shows on the box. But it may surprise viewers to learn what ITV crime drama Queen Camilla has been obsessed with this year.
Ahead of the launch of the sixth series, Grace star John Simm revealed that the monarch is secretly a fan of the cop drama. Speaking to the press ahead of the show's return, John's co-star Richie Campbell revealed: "Queen Camilla's a huge fan of the show".
The crime series, which is based on the book series by Peter James, launched back in March 2021. Set in Brighton, the gritty police drama follows the dedicated yet orthodox detective as he solves murder cases while remaining haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his wife, Sandy.
In 2021, the Queen got to meet the impressive mind behind the book series when she met the author in person. She told him: "I love your books. I've read them all, cover to cover."
And her love for the show has never waned, with the Queen paying a visit to the ITV set while ITV bosses filmed the third series. When the best-selling author discovered she was a fan of his crime thrillers, he offered her a leading role alongside her favourite fictional detective in the latest Grace adventure, The Hawk is Dead.
The book, released by Macmillan in October 2025, sees DS Grace go behind the scenes at Buckingham Palace after the Royal train, with Camilla on board, derails and a senior member of the royal household is shot dead.
The long-running show returned to the airwaves last month, where John reunited with his co-stars Richie, who plays DI Glenn Branson, and Zoe Tapper, who portrays Clea Morey.
The new series will include four standalone films based on the characters from the best-selling novels by beloved author. Their titles include Left You Dead, Capture You Dead, Dean Man's Game, and One of Us is Dead.
Fans will also see the return of Laura Elphinsone, who plays DS Bella Moy, as well as Brad Morrison and Juliette Motamed as DC Nick Nicholl and DC Vee Wilde. It will also feature a series of guest stars, including Rishi Nair, Ali Khan, Sara Powell, Chizzy Akudolu, Dylan Corbett-Bader, Peter De Jersey, and Amir Wilson.
Grace series 6 premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, March 29 at 8pm.
