Tonsils are the fleshy lumps located on either side of the throat. When these become inflamed, the condition is known as tonsillitis, which can cause significant throat pain and loss of taste. Factors such as consuming rice, cold beverages, refined flour, and excessive sour foods can lead to the enlargement of tonsils. These foods increase acidity, resulting in constipation. Additionally, sudden weather changes, exposure to cold, and living in polluted environments can also contribute to tonsil enlargement.
