A rain-hit evening turned into a memorable one for Yashasvi Jaiswal who reached a major milestone during Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Mumbai Indians in Guwahati.
Playing at Barsapara Stadium in a match reduced to 11 overs due to rain, Yashasvi Jaiswal completed 100 sixes in the IPL while also scoring his 17th half-century in the tournament. It was a special moment for the young batter, who continues to impress in this season.
After a delayed start caused by a wet outfield, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. But Rajasthan Royals’ openers came out attacking from the very beginning. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi put together a quick 80-run partnership in just five overs, putting immediate pressure on the opposition.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played an explosive knock of 39 off just 14 balls, hitting one four and five sixes before being dismissed by Shardul Thakur. Soon after, Dhruv Jurel was out for 2, dismissed by Allah Ghazanfar.
Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag tried to keep the momentum going but he was also dismissed by Allah Ghazanfar after scoring 20 off 10 balls, with Tilak Varma taking the catch.

Despite wickets falling at the other end, Yashasvi Jaiswal stayed in control and continued attacking. He also moved ahead of Sameer Rizvi in the race for the Orange Cap, awarded to the highest run-scorer of the season.
Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 77 off 32 balls, leading Rajasthan Royals to a strong total of 150/3. Shimron Hetmyer supported him at the end with 6 not out off 7 balls.
It was a complete performance from Yashasvi Jaiswal, combining consistency with power and marking yet another milestone in his growing IPL career.
