It looks like Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next big film, once he wraps up King already. That’s right, if reports doing the rounds are anything to go by, the actor is now looking to return to the big screens with one of his biggest films ever — that’s right, it’s Jawan 2.

Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Reports in India Today suggest that Jawan 2 is no longer in the ideation stage; in fact, the report also revealed that the film's script was locked only recently, after months. “A script and idea for Jawan 2 had been in the works for a while. A few weeks ago, the script was finalised. SRK will begin work on the film after completing King,” the report revealed.

In addition, the report revealed that the makers are looking to cast a powerful antagonist in the film and, in fact, are looking to finalise an A-lister from the South to play the part.

While no official confirmation has been shared yet, the sequel is likely to go on floors sometime next year, marking SRK’s reunion with director Atlee. Their collaboration was a record-breaking success, and given that SRK has been rather keen on expanding the film’s universe, it all just seems like something that makes sense, plus there’s also the audience’s added interest.

Jawan hit screens back in 2023, and it turned out to be a box office beast, to say the least, as it earned over Rs 1,100 crore worldwide, making a place for itself among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Along with SRK, the cast of the film also included Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance, among others.

Meanwhile, as for Atlee, he will only be able to get to the movie once he is probably done with Raaka, featuring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. Now that he has established his place as a pan-India filmmaker after Jawan’s success, high hopes ride on his next as well.
