A recent incident in Ghaziabad has raised fresh concerns about rider safety on app-based bike taxi services. A young woman alleged that a Rapido driver began sending her unsolicited and personal messages shortly after dropping her off, prompting widespread outrage online.

Sharing her experience on Instagram, the woman posted a video documenting the incident. The clip begins with a caption that reads, “Rapido bike book kar leti hu kya hi ho jayega (I’ll just book a Rapido, what could possibly go wrong?)” followed by, “ Ho gaya (Well, it did).” She then included screenshots of messages allegedly sent by the rider.

According to her post, the driver first texted, “Didn’t recognize me? I just dropped you.” When she asked if he was the Rapido rider, he confirmed and continued the conversation. He reportedly complimented her appearance, saying she looked “cute” and “beautiful in traditional attire.”

The messages soon turned more intrusive. The driver allegedly asked if she lived alone and suggested meeting the next day at 4 PM. Feeling uncomfortable, the woman blocked his number immediately.
