New Delhi: Raghav Chadha’s decision to leave Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has created a stir in political circles. Meanwhile, on Monday (April 27), he released a video on social media and clarified his decision in detail. In the video message, Chadha said that this decision was not taken suddenly, but after long-standing circumstances and deliberations, he has taken this step. He said that his main objective has always been to serve the country and the public, and he will continue to work in the same direction in future too.

Appealing to his supporters and workers, he said that his decision should not be linked to personal interest, but should be understood as a political decision. Opposition parties have reacted sharply to this move of Raghav Chadha and termed it as opportunism. At the same time, BJP has described his joining the party as an important political achievement. Meanwhile, in a video shared on Instagram, he has mentioned the reactions he is getting regarding his decision. In the video, Chadha said, “For the last three days, I have been receiving a lot of messages from all of you. Most of you are wishing me well and congratulating me. While some people want to know the reason behind my decision.”

He said that keeping in mind the curiosity of the people, he has released this video so that he can clearly present the reasons for his decision before everyone. Chadha reiterated that his step has been taken thoughtfully and its aim is only to serve the public and work in the interest of the country. He appealed to his supporters to look at his decision from a positive perspective.

Mention of 15 years journey

In the video, Chadha said that he dedicated 15 years of his life to the Aam Aadmi Party. Describing himself as a founding member of the party, he said, “I did not come to make a career in politics. I became the founding member of a political party. I gave 15 years of my youth to this party with my blood, sweat and hard work.” He indicated in his statement that his association with the party has been not only political but also emotional. Chadha said that it was not easy to take this decision after working for the party for a long time, but considering the circumstances he had to take this step.

Strong criticism of party’s functioning

In the video released after joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he made serious allegations on the atmosphere within the party. Chadha said that with time there has been a big change in the party and now it is no longer what it used to be. He alleged, “Today this party is no longer the old party. Today the working environment in this party is very bad. You are prevented from working. You are prevented from speaking in Parliament.” He indicated that the freedom to work within the party had become limited, due to which it was becoming difficult for him to work. This statement of Chadha is being considered as a direct attack on the AAP leadership.

Reason for joining BJP

In a video released on social media, he said that he had been feeling isolated within the party for a long time. Chadha said that he was constantly feeling alienated and gradually he started realizing that he was the right person, but in the wrong party. “I started feeling that I was the right person, but in the wrong party,” he said.

He also said that due to this situation he seriously considered many options. These included staying away from politics completely, trying to reform within the party or joining some other political platform. According to Chadha, after much deliberation he chose the third option and ultimately decided to join BJP. Describing this as a new chapter in his political journey, he said that now he will try to serve the public through a new platform.

‘7 people can’t be wrong’

In the video released on social media, he said that his decision is not personal but is the result of widespread dissatisfaction. “Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, but seven MPs have decided to break their ties with this political party,” Chadha claimed. He further said in his statement, “One person can be wrong, two people can be wrong, but seven people cannot be wrong.” This claim of Chadha is being seen as a sign of widespread dissatisfaction within AAP. However, an official response from the party is awaited.

Denied pressure or fear behind resignation

In a video released on social media, he clarified that his resignation was not the result of any pressure or fear. “We resigned not out of fear, but out of despair, disillusionment and disgust,” Chadha said. He also said that despite leaving the party, his political activism will continue and he will continue to raise public problems with more energy than before. “I will continue to raise your issues with more energy and enthusiasm,” he said.

The impact of this political development was also seen on social media. Raghav Chadha faced huge backlash within 24 hours of leaving AAP and joining BJP. According to reports, there was a sharp decline in his Instagram followers. It is being told that he lost more than 10 lakh followers, which later increased to around 20 lakh.
