Lifestyle Desk – Consumption of gram sattu is considered very beneficial in summer. From this we drink Sattu as drink. Apart from this, Sattu Paratha, Sattu Muthiya and other such dishes are also eaten. But have you ever eaten Sattu Halwa? This is really a wonderful and healthy dessert, especially for summer. It is easy to make and gets ready in less time. Let us know its simple and easy recipe.



Material


Sattu (gram) – 1 cup
Ghee – 3-4 tbsp
Sugar or jaggery – ¾ cup
Water or milk – 2 cups
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
Dry fruits (cashews, almonds, raisins) – 2–3 tbsp


Method



  1. First of all, put ghee in the pan and heat it on medium flame. Then add Sattu in ghee and fry for 5-7 minutes while stirring continuously, until the aroma starts coming out and the color becomes light golden.

  2. Now slowly add water or milk (keep stirring continuously to avoid lumps). Add sugar or jaggery in it and let it dissolve well.

  3. Now add cardamom powder and dry fruits into it. Cook until the halwa thickens (about 5–7 minutes). When it starts leaving the pan, it is ready.

  4. Serve hot Sattu Halwa. If you wish, garnish with some ghee or dry fruits on top.


tips


By using jaggery the taste becomes more local and healthy. If you want a richer taste, use milk instead of water. For low-fat version, the amount of ghee can be reduced slightly.
