A security services provider has collapsed into administration in another blow to UK businesses. RK9 Security Services, based in Manchester, has today (Wednesday, April 29) appointed administrators, according to The Gazette.

The company secures large-scale farming festivals with thousands of attendees. One of their clients was provided with 80 bodyguards, high-definition cameras, surveillance drones, floodlights and K9 teams as part of the company's multi-layered security strategy. The administrators are Mike Dillon and Katy McAndrew, both of Leonard Curtis. According to the company's website, some of its clients include Mercedes, the Bury Council, UK Locksmiths or Lambert Smith Hampton.

The company also assisted a Government agency with evicting 20 squatters occupying a multi-story building that "had suffered extensive vandalism, including graffiti, stolen piping, and broken windows".

The business has a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Google, with 49 reviews.

One happy customer said: "RK9 have provided security services at our vacant properties for over 2 years. They have provided key holding, emergency response to alarm triggers, weekly inspections, facilitating site visits and 24hr manned security when required.

"The team, led by Ben, are always responsive, pleasant to deal with and knowledgeable. They have also provided swift assistance when we've faced 'unauthorised visitors' entering the site and RK9 are well equipped (dogs) and well trained (certified enforcement agents) to prevent situations from escalating and to evict in a short time frame."

There has been no mention of the reason behind the administration. However, according to Companies House, the business has previously faced financial difficulties, with the last accounts made up to October 2022 and a liquidator's statement of receipts and payments published in September last year.

The Express has approached the company for a comment.
