Nelamangala: A 16-year-old student, who had scored 83 per cent in the SSLC examination, died by suicide in Byregowdanahalli village under the jurisdiction of Madanayakanahalli Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as Sandhya (16). She was staying at her aunt’s house in Byregowdanahalli village of Dasanapura hobli for her education. Her father has been identified as Raghavendra.

According to available information, Sandhya had brought a college application form on Saturday for admission. Meanwhile, her family members had gone to a hospital as her grandmother was unwell.

During this time, she died by suicide at home. It is reported that she left behind a note addressed to her father.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
