Madhya Pradesh Cabinet gave approvals of ₹38,555 crore in its meeting held on May 5, 2026. Big decisions like Roads, IT, Anganwadi, Pulses Mission and Traders Welfare Board will benefit development, employment and farmers.

Bhopal. In the cabinet meeting held on May 5 under the chairmanship of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, many important decisions related to the development and public welfare of the state were taken. A total of ₹38,555 crore financial approvals were given in the meeting. The objective of these decisions is to strengthen the infrastructure of the state, make agriculture self-reliant and improve social security.

Big decision for traders: Formation of State Traders Welfare Board

The Cabinet took the historic decision to create the State Traders Welfare Board (STWB) to protect the interests of the traders of the state and their all-round development. Its objective is to establish direct communication between traders and the government, so that problems can be resolved quickly.

The chairman of this board will be the Chief Minister and it will include senior officials of many important departments. Besides, representatives of major trade organizations like CII, FICCI, DICCI, FIEO and Laghu Udyog Bharti have also been made members. Committees (DLC) will also be formed at the district level, which will meet every month.

₹32,405 crore approved for road construction and housing maintenance

₹32,405 crore has been approved for road and housing related schemes under the Public Works Department.

  • ₹6,150 crore for road-bridge maintenance scheme
  • ₹1,345 crore for maintenance of government houses
  • ₹24,300 crore for construction/upgradation of rural roads and district roads
  • ₹610 crore for road safety schemes

These schemes will be applicable from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031.

Boost to IT and electronics sector: Approval of ₹1,295 crore

₹1,295.52 crore sanctioned to strengthen the IT and Electronics sector under the Department of Science and Technology.

  • ₹244.20 crore for operationalization of IT and e-governance centers (RCBC, DEGS, NIC)
  • ₹225.32 crore for Electronics Manufacturing Cluster on 209.47 acres in Bandikhedi, Bhopal
  • ₹300 crore for IT investment promotion scheme
  • ₹526 crore for State Wide Area Network (SWAN)

The objective of these schemes is to promote IT industries in the state and increase employment opportunities.

₹2,412 crore for Anganwadi and Mission Vatsalya

Approval of ₹2,412 crore was given for Anganwadi centers and child protection schemes under the Women and Child Development Department.

  • ₹1,800 crore for construction of 1500 new Anganwadi buildings
  • ₹606.68 crore for operation of Mission Vatsalya
  • ₹5 crore for cleanliness action plan

Under this scheme, nutrition, education and security will be provided to needy children.

Self-reliance mission in pulses: ₹2,442 crore approved

The Cabinet approved ₹2,442.04 crore to continue the "Self-Reliance Mission in Pulses" for the next 5 years. Under this mission:

  • Production and distribution of improved seeds
  • increase farming area
  • training farmers
  • Promote post-harvest processing and storage

This scheme was launched on 11 October 2025, which aims to increase the income of farmers and increase production.

Big step towards overall development

All these decisions will strengthen infrastructure, agriculture, IT sector and social schemes in Madhya Pradesh. The government aims to make the state self-reliant and economically strong.
