The Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, is scheduled to undergo a cabinet expansion on Thursday. This significant event will see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, and other senior BJP officials, including Chief Ministers from the NDA alliance. Following the BJP's impressive victory in West Bengal, this marks Prime Minister Modi's inaugural visit to Bihar, with grand preparations underway for his reception.

Chaudhary's Leadership and Cabinet Formation

Samrat Chaudhary took the oath as Bihar's Chief Minister on April 15, becoming the first leader from the saffron party to hold this position in the state. His appointment followed the resignation of Nitish Kumar, who had been the longest-serving Chief Minister, as he transitioned to the Rajya Sabha. Alongside Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav from the JDU also took their oaths as members of the council of ministers. Sources indicate that this cabinet expansion may include several familiar and new faces from the NDA coalition.

Potential Names for Cabinet Positions

Possible Names from JDU: Leaders such as Shravan Kumar, Ashok Chaudhary, Lacey Singh, Madan Sahni, Jama Khan, Sunil Kumar, Sheela Mandal, Ratnesh Sada, Bulo Mandal, Jayant Raj, and Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha are likely to be reappointed to the cabinet.

Possible Names from BJP: Discussions are ongoing regarding names like Vijay Kumar Sinha, Mangal Pandey, Ram Kripal Yadav, Dilip Jayaswal, Shreyasi Singh, Lakshmindra Prasad, Rama Nivas, Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi, Arun Shankar Prasad Singh, Sanjay Singh (Tiger), Nitish Mishra, or Mithilesh Tiwari.

Other Potential Appointees

From the LJP (Ram Vilas), names like Sanjay Singh and Sanjay Paswan are being considered. Additionally, Santosh Manjhi from HAM and Deepak Prakash from RJD may also receive opportunities, although the final list is yet to be confirmed. Reports suggest that the BJP and JDU may leave one or two seats vacant for their allied parties.
