Princess Anne has opened a new UK salmon facility which has created about 40 jobs. The Princess Royal toured the multi-million pound Applecross site in Wester Ross, Scotland, on Wednesday (May 13).
Anne met employees and guests during the visit, during which she found out about the use of tech to boost the welfare of fish and ease the impact of salmon farming on the environment. Bakkafrost Scotland's facility uses less water than traditional hatcheries and converts waste to fertiliser.
The company said salmon farmers in Scotland have welcomed its approach as it reduces the amount of time fish spend at sea, reducing their exposure to "natural challenges".
Ian Laister, Managing Director of Bakkafrost Scotland, said in a statement: "We were honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal and proud to showcase the people, technology, and community partnerships behind this facility."
Hailed as one of the hardest working royals, Anne, 75, holds a number of roles and patronages, including in agriculture.
She is an Honorary Assistant of The Worshipful Company of Farmers and is Life Vice President of the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs.
Wednesday also saw King Charles's sister visit Dornoch Cathedral for an event marking "One Thousand Years of Community Service" and Kishorn Port in Strathcarron, Ross-shire, to mark its 50th anniversary.
King Charles, meanwhile, visited Golders Green in London on Thursday where he met Jewish victims of the stabbings in the neighbourhood last month.
The King met Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Ben Baila, 76, also known as Norman Shine, along with Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis and Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley.
Sir Ephraim told the King the local community appreciated it enormously that he had made the visit.
Charles also spoke with members of the Jewish community police force Shomrim, who were involved in responding to the attacks on April 29.
Later on Thursday, the King watched the grand unveiling of the new main stage curtains at the Royal Opera House, which have been crafted with a design in his honour.
Charles beamed as more than 2,000 guests at the venue in central London cheered as they got a first glimpse of the curtains, which feature an embroidery of the King's personal cipher.
