West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has made it clear that legal action will be taken against those citizens whose names do not fit the conditions of CAA. Illegal immigrants will be found in the state and deported. In this regard, instructions have been given to the police administration and systems. He has mentioned that preventing infiltration in the state is the main priority of the government.


After Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s statement, people whose names are not in CAA are now worried. The central government and the then Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were at loggerheads over the issue of CAA and NRC for a long time. At that time also the central government had directed to identify illegal immigrants. But then Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced that CAA and NRC will not be implemented in Bengal. Due to this, there was a dispute between the center and the state.
