In the 66th league match of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans completely dominated Chennai Super Kings and registered a big victory of 89 runs. In this match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first, but Gujarat batsmen proved this decision wrong.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans got a great start from the opening pair of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan. Both the batsmen laid a strong foundation by adding 125 runs for the first wicket. Captain Gill scored 64 runs, while Sai Sudarshan batted in excellent rhythm and scored 84 runs in 53 balls.

After Gill’s dismissal, Jos Buttler also adopted an aggressive style and along with Sudarshan scored runs quickly. There was a partnership of 82 runs between the two for the second wicket in just 36 balls. Butler remained unbeaten till the end and played a key role in taking Gujarat to 229 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs by scoring 57 runs in 27 balls. For Chennai, Anshul Kamboj, Mukesh Chaudhary and Spencer Johnson got one success each.

Chasing the target of 230 runs, Chennai Super Kings had a very disappointing start. The team lost the wicket of Sanju Samson on the very first ball. Even before recovering from the initial shock, CSK had lost three wickets for 29 runs, which increased the pressure on the team.

Shivam Dubey struggled for some time in the middle order and tried to make the match interesting by scoring 47 runs in just 17 balls. However, as soon as he was out, Chennai’s remaining hopes also ended. The rest of the batsmen could not last long against the Gujarat bowlers.

The entire team was reduced to 140 runs in 13.4 overs. In bowling for Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Siraj and Rashid Khan performed brilliantly and took three wickets each. With this win, Gujarat Titans ended the league stage on a high note, while Chennai Super Kings’ campaign ended with a defeat.
