The group stage of IPL 2026 wrapped up, and now we’re down to the top four: Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. These teams have made it to the knockouts.

Delhi Capitals, honestly, got people talking this season. Their run felt like a roller coaster—lots of ups and downs—and they ended up sixth, falling short of the playoffs.

Aaron Finch, the former Australian cricketer, didn’t hold back when he discussed Delhi’s problems. He pointed straight at confusion within the team. He mentioned Sameer Rizvi, who started batting at No. 4 and smashed two match-winning innings. Most folks would stick him there after that, right? But Delhi pushed him up to No. 3, played him out of position, and soon enough, he was out of the squad entirely. Finch said, “That’s a team that’s so confused with how they want to go about things.”

He also spoke about Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR’s hopes crashed on the final day when Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians, knocking KKR out. Finch didn’t sugarcoat it: “It’s disappointing. Sure, they got close in the end, but you can’t give a league this competitive a six-game head start. No way you’re catching up after that. They had a shot, but they let things slip way too early in the season.”
