Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has once again witnessed a major administrative reshuffle as the state government transferred several IPS officers to important positions across key districts and police units.


The latest transfer list includes significant postings in Lucknow, Kanpur, Mirzapur, Gonda and Agra. According to the official order, six IPS officers have been assigned new responsibilities as part of the latest reshuffle.

List of IPS Transfers



  1. IPS officer Ravi Shankar Chhavi (RR-2007), who was awaiting posting and serving as Inspector General at DGP Headquarters in Lucknow, has now been appointed Inspector General, Public Grievances, DGP Headquarters, Lucknow.

  2. IPS officer Harish Chander (RR-2010) has been transferred from the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Kanpur Range, to DIG, Anti-Corruption Organisation, Lucknow.

  3. IPS officer Poonam (RR-2010), who was serving as DIG and Principal of PTS Meerut, has been posted as DIG, Mirzapur Range.

  4. IPS officer Ashok Kumar-IV (SPS-2010), earlier posted as DIG, CID Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, has been appointed DIG, Devipatan Range, Gonda.

  5. IPS officer Sachindra Patel (RR-2012) has been shifted from DIG, Anti-Corruption Organisation, Lucknow, to Additional Commissioner of Police, Agra Police Commissionerate.

  6. IPS officer Yamuna Prasad (RR-2012), previously serving as DIG, PTS Moradabad, has been appointed DIG, Kanpur Range.

The transfers are being viewed as part of the state government’s continued administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening policing and law-and-order management across Uttar Pradesh. Senior police officials in key ranges and specialized units have been reassigned ahead of several upcoming administrative and security challenges in the state.
