India Tour of Sri Lanka: Big information has come to light regarding the Indian cricket team’s tour to Sri Lanka. There is good news for the cricket fans who have been waiting for this series for a long time that a two-match Test series will be played between India and Sri Lanka in August. This series will be a part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC), hence it is considered very important for both the teams. According to the report of Cricbuzz, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have planned to organize the Test series between 15 to 27 August. However, the official program has not been released yet by both the boards.

First test can be played in Galle

According to the report of Cricbuzz, the first test match will be played at Galle International Stadium from 15 to 19 August. Galle ground is considered helpful for spin bowlers and exciting matches are always seen here. Whereas the second test match can start from 23rd August. For this, the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground of Colombo is being considered as a possible host. Although its official confirmation is still pending.

Test tour of Sri Lanka after nine years

Let us tell you that India last went to Sri Lanka to play a Test series in 2017. At that time, under the leadership of captain Virat Kohli, the Indian team performed brilliantly and clean swept Sri Lanka. Now after almost nine years, the Indian team will again visit Sri Lanka for a Test series. This time the command of the team may be in the hands of Shubman Gill and the fans may once again see a tough competition between the two countries.

Discussion is also going on on T20 series

Apart from the Test series, there is also a possibility of playing a series of three T20 international matches between India and Sri Lanka. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has also indicated that talks are going on regarding the three T20 matches and a final decision can be taken soon. According to the information, the final of Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be played on 9th August. In such a situation, it is considered easier to organize T20 matches after the Test series.

Indian team’s schedule is busy

The upcoming schedule of the Indian team is going to be very busy. After the Sri Lanka tour, the team has to tour Bangladesh in September, where a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches is proposed. Apart from this, India also has to play a home series against West Indies and also participate in the Asian Games. In such a situation, BCCI will have to strike a balance between the workload and schedule of the players. At present, cricket fans are waiting for the official program, but it is believed that in August, exciting test cricket will be seen between India and Sri Lanka.
