Michael Fassbender’s spy show returns for Season 2 this week, among other upcoming Paramount+ releases.
Landing on Paramount+ on June 21, Season 2 of The Agency follows CIA officer Martian, played by Fassbender, as he goes undercover for MI6. Moreover, with his partner Sami, portrayed by Jodie Turner-Smith, he moves to a black site in Sudan. Martian has to dig deep into a dangerous web of global intrigue to rescue her, all while paranoia and betrayal close in.
Additionally, Rubble & Crew Season 3 releases on Paramount+ this week, on June 17. The crew takes on huge projects, like giant skyscrapers, stunt ramps, and turtle houses, while constantly outsmarting rival builder Speed Meister and his brother Mega Meister.
This week’s Paramount+ drop also includes Nine, a musical drama led by Daniel Day-Lewis. He plays Guido Contini, a celebrated Italian filmmaker caught in a midlife slump, while battling serious writer’s block. With his next movie due to start filming but not a single script page written, he escapes to a high-end spa. Caught between his wife, his mistress, and the muses from his past, he then tries to untangle his career from his personal life.
Meanwhile, Piranha, releasing on June 20, is a bloody horror-comedy that unleashes thousands of prehistoric, flesh-eating piranhas during a chaotic spring break at Lake Victoria. Furthermore, several sports fixtures are slated for this week, including basketball with BIG3 and WNBA games, as well as a UFC event.
