New Delhi: Heavy rainfall in Karnataka’s Malnad region has triggered a series of incidents, with a landslide in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district claiming the lives of three members of a family.
The incident occurred at Indira Nagar in Thirthahalli during the early hours of Sunday, around 2:30 am, when a hill reportedly collapsed following intense rainfall. The victims were living in a shed constructed at the foothills, which was buried under the debris.
The deceased have been identified as Mallikarjuna (35), Nagaveni (28) and their three-year-old son Santosh. The family was originally from Kokkaregaru village in Gangavati taluk of Koppal district.
