Business Desk – Gold-Silver Price Today: There is a rise in the prices of gold and silver on Friday, August 21, 2026. On Multi Commodity Exchange of India i.e. MCX, gold opened at Rs 1,59,775 per 10 grams and silver at Rs 2,44,610 per kg.
In the international market, gold is trading at $ 4,590.40 an ounce and silver at $ 68.860 an ounce on Comex. Today, silver prices are rising more than gold prices. On Bullions.co.in, gold reached Rs 1,60,080 per 10 grams and silver reached Rs 2,45,420 per kg.
On Thursday, the price of gold on MCX closed at Rs 1,59,544 per 10 grams. Whereas silver closed at Rs 2,42,298 per kg. In early trade on Friday, the price of silver rose by Rs 2,312, while the price of gold increased by about Rs 200. That means today the movement of silver is faster than that of gold in the bullion market.
According to the Indian Bullion Jewelery Association, the price of 24 carat gold was Rs 15,708 per gram and the price of 22 carat gold was Rs 15,331 per gram.
Many global factors are being said to be behind the rise in gold and silver prices. Gold and silver are getting support from the fall in dollar index. Generally, when the dollar weakens, demand for dollar-denominated commodities is supported.
Apart from this, increasing tension in the Middle East is also attracting investors towards safe investments i.e. Safe Haven Assets. Its effect is visible on the prices of gold as well as silver.
After the opening of the bullion market, the prices of both the precious metals increased further. However, on Friday, silver prices are showing a higher rise than gold.
The price of 24 carat gold in Delhi on Friday is Rs 1,59,430 per 10 grams. The price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,46,160 per 10 grams, while the price of 18 carat gold is Rs 1,19,620 per 10 grams.
In Mumbai, the price of 24 carat gold is Rs 1,59,280 per 10 grams. The price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,46,010 per 10 grams and the price of 18 carat gold is Rs 1,19,470 per 10 grams.
The price of 24 carat gold in Kolkata is Rs 1,59,280 per 10 grams. Whereas 22 carat gold is trading at Rs 1,46,010 per 10 grams and 18 carat gold is trading at Rs 1,19,470 per 10 grams.
The price of 24 carat gold in Chennai is Rs 1,59,280 per 10 grams. The price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,46,010 per 10 grams. Whereas 18 carat gold is priced at Rs 1,23,810 per 10 grams.
If we look at the price of silver according to cities, the price of 1 kg of silver in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata is Rs 2,55,100. Whereas in Chennai the price of silver is more than Rs 2,60,100 per kg.
In this way, there is a rise in precious metals in both domestic and international markets on Friday. Especially, there is a sharp rise in the prices of silver as compared to gold. Amidst the situation in the Dollar Index and the Middle East, investors are now keeping an eye on further global signals.
