What is the eligibility for application?

BCCI has set some qualifications for the recruitment of Junior Cricket Selection Committee.

• Those players who have played at least 25 first class matches.


• Must have retired from sports at least 5 years ago.


• Any person who has been a member of any Cricket Committee as defined in the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of BCCI for a total period of 5 years cannot apply for this post.

What will be the responsibility?

According to BCCI, the members of the Junior Cricket Committee will have many responsibilities.

• To select the best teams in the age group up to Under-22 in a fair and transparent manner. Also to identify talent and build strong bench strength for India’s junior teams.


• To discover and evaluate players through domestic and international matches. Also contributing to the selection and development of teams for coaching camps, tours and tournaments in India and abroad.


• Screening and selecting coaches and support staff for the respective teams, including physiotherapists, trainers, therapists, analysts and physicians.


• Monitoring the performance and development of junior teams, including preparing periodic evaluation reports and appointing captains across all formats.


• To organize and conduct BCCI junior tournaments and foreign junior tours. Also addressing matters to the conduct and administration of junior tournaments.


• To promote strong moral values ​​among young cricketers, including awareness of issues such as drugs and match-fixing.
