Pakistani celebrities have joined growing calls for justice following the death of Hina Javed, a young woman who died in Rawalpindi on August 20 in circumstances that are being investigated as an alleged murder.

Several well-known figures from the country’s entertainment industry have expressed solidarity with Hina’s family and urged authorities to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation. Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Osman Khalid Butt, Iffat Omar and Samar Jafri are among those who have publicly spoken about the case, drawing attention to concerns surrounding violence against women.

Hina reportedly married in 2025 and later moved into her husband’s family home. According to reports, she was found hanging from a wire noose attached to a bathroom shower. Following her death, her brother, Fahad, registered a murder case against Hina’s husband, Asghar Imam, her father-in-law and a domestic worker.

The allegations against the suspects have not been proven in court, and the investigation is still underway. Authorities are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding Hina’s death and establish whether anyone was responsible.

Mahira Khan reacted strongly to the case on Instagram after seeing a post from an account highlighting Hina’s story. Questioning the circumstances of the young woman’s death, the actor expressed concern over violence against women and offered her support to Hina’s family.

Khan also conveyed sympathy for the family, acknowledging the immense pain they are facing following the loss of their loved one. Her comments quickly drew attention from social media users and added to the growing public discussion surrounding the case.

Hania Aamir and Samar Jafri also shared posts and Instagram stories from the Justice for Hina page, which has been documenting the family’s concerns and allegations. The page has shared claims that Hina allegedly experienced mistreatment and abuse during her marriage.

According to allegations circulated by the family and supporters, Hina was allegedly subjected to physical violence, isolation and other forms of mistreatment. These claims have not been independently verified and remain part of the ongoing investigation.

Actor Iffat Omar also used her social media platform to call on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to take action against violence targeting women. She urged those in positions of authority to use their influence to address such cases and ensure that victims and their families receive justice.

Osman Khalid Butt also expressed concern over the reported circumstances of Hina’s death. While acknowledging the public outrage and arrests reportedly made in connection with the case, he questioned whether the legal process would ultimately deliver justice.

Butt emphasized that Hina’s family should not be forced to spend years navigating a difficult legal system before receiving answers. His comments reflected broader concerns about the challenges families can face when seeking justice in cases involving alleged violence against women.

The involvement of prominent Pakistani celebrities has brought renewed public attention to Hina Javed’s case. Their statements have also highlighted the wider issue of violence against women and the need for accountability when serious allegations are made.

As the investigation continues, Hina’s family and supporters are seeking a fair and transparent process. The legal proceedings will ultimately determine the facts of the case and whether the allegations against the named individuals can be established.
